7/12/06:
Members from Indiana Walleye.com joined Captain
Steve from Fishy
Business Guide Service out of Meinke marina on
Lake Erie. Captain Steve did one heck of a job,
keeping us on fish, especially due to the
conditions. Even with heavy rain and wind we got
this nice group of walleye. I also would highly
recommend his guide service.

John
Koonsman gets a 4.8lb walleye
I
get a call the other day, and it's John Koonsman
from Hoosier Angler magazine. He is almost out of
breath and say's he has just landed a walleye out
of his local lake, John was amazed to get this
walleye of this size, due to the fact that they
haven't stocked the lake for 10 years. John asked
if it was possible that the walleye could be
reproducing in the lake? I said it was possible,
or that maybe it was transplanted by another
angler. John being a good sportsman put the
walleye back, hoping that it will help in the
local walleye reproduction. Visit John's web page
to check out his magazine. http://www.hoosierangler.com/
Way
to go John, I appreciate your conservation
efforts... Doug Burkhead

JIGGIN
JIM'S GUIDE SERVICE
Back
at it in 2006, Jimmy Lang is putting his
customer's on walleye at Brookville Reservoir.
Just ask Jamie Duke from Cincinnati, Ohio.
"Yep, it's true. I got on Jimmy's boat
this morning not knowing what the heck a
"hanger" was. OH BOY, did I learn
quick. Jimmy showed me that patience is just
as important as presentation. I couldn't
have done it without you Jimmy and thank you for a
truly outstanding outing. It WAS the perfect
day. I actually felt bad out there because I
didn't see anyone else reeling them in (but only
for a split second) Ha! Ha!
I went out today to show my in-laws from Cleveland
that there are other places to catch fish other
than Erie, man did Jimmy prove those boogers
wrong.
Thanks Jimmy - Duke

Another
fun filled outing was had by all. If you
wonder if Indiana Walleye members know
how to have a good time, let's see what
they have to say:
A
special thanks to both Mr & Mrs
Eyecatcher for all the campground
arrangements as well as to the rest that
worked very hard to feed the masses.
Jimmy, thanks for running the
tournament. We had a blast
... a very enjoyable day on
the water. And as usual, we
learned a few more lessons. -
Gregg & Heidi Stauffer
Yes
the outing was a blast. I just
wanted to say thanks to everyone
involved in making it such a good
weekend. I am hoping to fish some
more of the tournaments and make some
more fishing buddies. It was very
nice meeting all of you and look forward
to fishing with everyone again sometime.
Thanks - Devin
What
a great weekend! I had a great
time seeing old friends and meeting new
ones. My partner enjoyed meeting
everyone and was amazed by the open
friendliness of the entire weekend.
I too want to thank everyone that
had a hand in organizing the weekend
from the tourney to the camping
and especially all the food preparation.
For all that were not able to make
the outing, make a note for next year
that this is a weekend you dont want to
miss. Thanks again for a great
weekend!!! Bej

HOOSIER
WALLEYE TOURNAMENT SERIES
APRIL 22, BASS LAKE OPEN, team tournament
was held at the public access site on the west end
of the lake just east US highway 35 and state rd
10.
With very windy conditions, only one team managed
to bring in a limit of 6 walleye. The team of
Jimmy Lang and Rick Systma using bottom bouncers
and floaters, tipped with live bait, managed to
work the strong winds to their advantage. Their 6
fish weighed in at 5.58 lbs and was good enough to
get them first place and $500.00.
Second place went to the team of Mike Rhoades and
Bob May, who brought 5 fish to the scales to weigh
5.02 lbs. They received $150.00 for their 2nd
place finish, but also won the Big Fish weight
with a walleye that weighed 1.53 lbs, which paid
them an additional $250.00.
