Brookville Tournament 7/31/04
12 boats entered the tournament on
Brookville reservoir Saturday morning. The morning started
out overcast, but soon would give way to bright sunshine and
a clear blue sky.
I had the pleasure of fishing with Jimmy
Lang ( Swedish pimple ), we were picking up walleye here and
there and with 1 1/2 to go in the tournament we had 7 out of
the 12 keepers to weigh in. We thought the fish had moved
from the spot we were fishing so we decided to move across
the reservoir to another spot. It only took about 5 minutes
to get there and as soon as we stopped Jimmy jumped up to
check the livewell, like he had been doing every 15 minutes
or so, he looked back at me and said..4 of the eyes are
belly up, I couldn't believe it. By the time we loaded up on
the trailer and got ready for the weigh in we had 2 fish
left alive. Come to find out, some of the walleye had spit
up shad, which had clogged the system. Even though we would
have placed second, we shook each others hand and smiled. We
gave it our best shot and that's all that matters.
Weigh
in: A number of people gathered to see the fish weighed in.
Our angler's were excited to see what each other had done.
55 walleye were caught by the group of experienced anglers.
