I have tipped these with Crawler chunks, Leeches, live minnows and what is called LPT (Live Prey Technology) minnows in a shad design. I use a 5 1/2 or 6' spinning rod with 8 lb test. I both vertical jig and Snap Jig with them. I like to use them in the river because of their design, they seem to stay more vertical in the current. As for snap jigging I try and keep them hopping back to the boat in short little hops pausing slightly. One thing I have noticed is that if they get hung up in the weeds or even in tree branches just give it a little slack and snap it and it usually comes free. For me I found that if I bend the hook out a little it allows a little better hook set. As for color, I prefer any with Chartreuse, Green or Orange. But any of the colors will work if presented to them correctly. I don't consider myself an expert at jigging but I do ok, I have watched and studied the creator of this jig whom I feel is the best Jigger in the club. They do catch Walleye, Perch and even Channel cats along with other critters.
