St. Joe River tournament

MWA holds first Tournament of the Season.

17 degrees and sunny greeted 20 of MWA’s Anglers early Saturday. March 13 for the clubs first of six scheduled points tournaments.

Looking more like Ice fishermen, all bundled up, 10 boats took off up river from Midway Bait on County line Road in search of what we live for, Good old Wally.

The bite was slow they just didn’t seem to be in the same place the day we pre-fished. With the Front moving through prior to the tournament they just seem to vanish. Most of the boats moved constantly looking for the right eddy or spot of calm water to find a bite.

By  weigh-in time only two boats had netted fish. The team of Rick Nichols and Bob May Took top honors with  1 fish weighing 1.33 lbs. The team of Mike Eberly and  Jack Blume were a close 2nd with 1 fish weighing in at 1.11 lbs.

Big Fish went to Rick Nichols
