WHITE, PARSHALL WIN WAL-MART RCL WALLEYE LEAGUE EVENT ON DETROIT RIVER
TRENTON, Mich. (April 26, 2004) - Boater Gus White of St. Helen and co-angler Ronald Parshall of Brownstown Township combined for a total of five walleyes weighing 27 pounds, 6 ounces to claim victory at the Wal-Mart RCL Walleye League tournament held Saturday on the Detroit River. White claimed $2,625 plus a $500 bonus for the win, with Parshall earning $1,313 from the Michigan Division event.
The pair caught the winning limit of walleyes along the Trenton channel in 10 to 12 feet of water by jigging 4-inch Berkley Power Worms on 1/2-ounce jigs.
Finishing second were Henry Kisselburg of Ypsilanti ($1,350 plus $400 bonus) and Scott Schabel of DeWitt ($675) with five walleyes weighing 27 pounds, 1 ounce. Joel Otto of Atlanta ($1,125 plus $300 bonus) and Jon Chappin of Midland ($563) caught five walleyes weighing 26 pounds, 7 ounces to finish third. Jason Kerr of Holly ($975 plus $250 bonus) and Jason Howell of Dimondale ($487 plus $125 bonus) claimed fourth place with five walleyes that weighed 25 pounds, 8 ounces. Finishing fifth were Gary Myas of Kalkaska ($675) and William Tucker of Allen Park ($337) thanks to a five-walleye catch that weighed 25 pounds, 1 ounce.
The Michigan Division's next stop will be June 5 on Houghton Lake followed by the final regular-season event, a two-day Super Tournament, July 31-August 1 on Saginaw Bay. Boaters and co-anglers who finish in the top 25 in final points standings in each RCL Walleye League division will advance to the $100,000 RCL League Finals Sept. 2-4 on Bays de Noc in Escanaba, Mich. The winning boater at the finals will receive an Evinrude-or Yamaha-powered Ranger, Crestliner or Lund boat. Every angler who receives weight credit in a tournament earns points, with 200 points awarded to the winner, 199 points for second, and so on, except for Super Tournaments, which award 300 points to the winner, 298 to second, and so on.

GLAZA WIN WAL-MART RCL WALLEYE LEAGUE EVENT ON PETENWELL LAKE
ARKDALE, Wis. (April 19, 2004) - Boater Jesse Howard Quale of Port Edwards
and co-angler Kevin Glaza of Wisconsin Rapids combined for a total of five
walleyes weighing 9 pounds, 15 ounces to claim victory at the Wal-Mart RCL
Walleye League tournament held Saturday on Petenwell Lake Chain near
Arkdale. Quale claimed $3,360 for the win, with Glaza taking home $1,680
from the Wisconsin Division event.
The winners utilized jigs, lindy rigs and crankbaits on the north end of
the lake. According to Quale and Glaza, most fish came from 5 feet of
water with a rocky bottom.
Finishing second were Lynn Niklasch of Oconomowoc ($1,728) and Luke
Kersten of Boyceville ($864) with five walleyes weighing 9 pounds, 6
ounces. Glenn Chenier of Gladstone, Mich. ($1,440) and Bob Barfknecht of
Janesville ($720 plus $150 bonus) caught five walleyes weighing 8 pounds,
12 ounces to finish third. Danny Steffens of Westfield ($1,248) and Erwin
Schuette of Manitowoc ($624) claimed fourth place with five walleyes that
weighed 8 pounds, 8 ounces. Finishing fifth were Steve Anderson of
Lovespark, Ill. ($864), and Lee Coffen of Oshkosh ($432) thanks to a
five-walleye catch that weighed 8 pounds, 2 ounces.

the final regular-season event, a two-day Super Tournament, July 10-11 on

RCL WALLEYE LEAGUE TO VISIT DETROIT RIVER
TRENTON, Mich. (April 13, 2004) - The Wal-Mart RCL Walleye League Michigan
Division will stage its first event of the 2004 season April 24 on the
Detroit River near Trenton. The tournament is expected to draw as many as
200 weekend walleye anglers to the Trenton area, with as many as 100
Boater Division competitors casting for a top award of as much as $4,000
and as many as 100 co-anglers in the hunt for as much as $2,000.
Anglers will take off from Elizabeth Park in Trenton at
7 a.m. Weigh-in will also be held there beginning at 3 p.m. The community
is encouraged to attend the takeoff and weigh-in.
Boaters and co-anglers are randomly paired for the
event and fish for a combined boat weight. Cash payouts are based on a
full field of 100 boaters and 100 co-anglers. Boaters compete against
other boaters, and co-anglers compete against other co-anglers.
The winning boater will earn as much as $3,500 cash for
the win, and if he is a registered owner of a Ranger, Crestliner or Lund
boat that he fished from during the event, he is eligible for a $500 RCL
bonus for a top award of $4,000 cash. If the winning boater uses only
Garmin electronics with at least one unit being a qualifying unit, he will
receive a $1,000 bonus from Garmin. The winning co-angler will earn as
much as $1,750 and if he is a registered Ranger, Crestliner or Lund owner,
he will receive a $250 bonus for a top award of $2,000.
Four RCL Walleye League divisions - Michigan,
Minnesota, South Dakota and Wisconsin -each feature two one-day events and
one two-day Super Tournament during the regular season. Every angler who
receives weight credit earns points, with 200 points awarded to the
winner, 199 for second, 198 for third, and so on, except for Super
Tournaments, which award 300 points to the winner, 299 for second, 298 for
third, and so on. These points determine angler standings.
The top 25 boaters and 25 co-anglers from each RCL
League division advance to the $100,000 Wal-Mart RCL Walleye League
